The sea around Curaçao is full of fish and surrounded by coral, making it a fantastic place for diving. Unfortunately, that coral is under threat, just like everywhere else in the world. You can admire the fish, but of course, you can also eat them—and it’s only natural that, on an island, people catch fish. So, there’s an abundance of delicious, fresh fish. You can buy directly from the fishermen, who will fillet the freshly caught fish right in front of you.
Two hands offer the fish, displaying it as a symbol of abundance. I photographed the ocean that surrounds Curaçao and used it as the backdrop. The abundance comes from the ocean, just like the wind does.
