The little figure is by the street artist David de Limon. He can be seen everywhere in the El Carmen neighborhood and increasingly in the Ruzafa area. I think I even came across him in Cabanyal, although I’m not entirely sure anymore. The presence of this little figure all over the city must provoke a reaction, and you can see that; his chest area has been spray-painted by someone else. A modest and not very aggressive reaction. The latter, in my opinion, fits the city, which, despite its size—over 1,000,000 people—still feels and looks friendly.
I like to see things in their context, and that’s how I photographed this little figure as well. He’s part of a wall, part of a whole, just as we are all part of something bigger. Perhaps he should stay in his own neighborhood and leave other areas to others.
