This graffiti is small and located in an unremarkable spot. I discovered it while I was dancing hard at a festival and needed to sit down for a moment. The image refers to one of those moments that changed history: the arrest and mistreatment of George Floyd, a Black man. The graffiti may be small, but it’s incredibly powerful, and the red, Japan-like symbol with the little figure holding an apple creates such a striking contrast with the black-and-white image that I had to come back to photograph it.
I haven’t seen any large graffiti on this subject yet, which is odd, really. Given its significance, you’d expect more grand, visible tributes.
