She also hangs in the graffiti museum ‘Straat’ located on the same grounds. So, I should probably know what this represents and who created it, but I actually photographed her for a different reason. I want to show that graffiti needs to be captured on a wall, in its context. That’s when it truly becomes more beautiful to look at. Go to the museum and compare the graffiti there with this photo.
I once came across a Banksy in London, just on the street. I found it amazing. Later, I saw images of his work in a museum, and it didn’t move me nearly as much. I feel the same with this image. A woman in a surgical mask and scrubs, with the Superman logo, is definitely food for thought. But on the street, in its raw environment, it speaks more powerfully.
