Tinder, the search engine for love—what do we really think of it? In this photo, the message is clear: “In Tinder we trust”… but also… “are lost.” What is the man with the protest sign trying to say? Is he commenting that everything, even something as beautiful and intimate as love, is now for sale online with a return policy? Or is it that people can become addicted to Tinder? The latter actually happens—people lose themselves in the digital world.
Does protesting against this still make sense? In a time when we’re too busy to go out and meet a future partner, everyone is using dating apps. The protest, holding a sign, feels a bit old-fashioned.
