Is he a gymnast or a footballer? The photo is full of energy either way. It almost looks like he’s kicking in the door he’s stuck to. His head is missing. In the bottom right corner, you see two words that link Berlin to its status as the techno capital: Techno and Berghain. Techno is a music genre that’s just as raw as the city itself. Berghain is the best-known techno club in the world and has even been designated a cultural site by the Berlin government, alongside a few other clubs.

The gymnast is located in the heart of Berlin, right between East and West, in that spot where the more polished West Berlin is slowly taking over the rougher East Berlin.
